February 16 Be ready to rehearse on Thursday at 6:30.

Lines missed

Martini
Whatsa matter?
HOW BOUT it
Mac
BUDDY, you are so wrong
THAT’S THE EXACT THING SOMEBODY ALWAYS….
I NEVER HEARD SUCH A DRIVIN RACKET in all my life
BUT I AM CRAZY DOC, HERE
Oh, yeah, yeah
Of a SPECK OF BLOOD
WHATTAYA say – You’ve missed this line every rehearsal
And you gutless wonders kept me from seeing it.
Old children’s rhyme
What’s the difference
I just adore your little battery charger
Open the window, huh?
Billy
And PRETTY SOON
Will be there a LONG TIME
Harding
WHY? The world belongs…..
I’m not and as a matter of fact, there aren’t many on the ward who are
I’ll be going soon
We won’t tell
Scanlon
Throw this HOSPITAL into orbit
No?
Bromden
IT BEATS everybody
I done it, Harding, I done it
Warren
Come on stand up and
Cheswick
We been thinking over it
Candy
We..I forgot Sandra out there
Sandra
Are you really nuts

CRITIQUES
EVERYONE
COMMIT to the dance
STEP ON LINES
Don’t stomp exiting
Guys in second dance, when you flop down, take masks off then so you appear to be patients when you exit as the orderlies enter the scene
The lines in the first scene must be stepped on.  Almost interrupt each other.
Where you got him – all lines must be sooner.
Too many people are right stage when Billy is confronted by Ratched.
When Harding comes in and sees Chief killing Mac, the others react.   Chief says his lines in a guttural push as he appears to throw the box.  Patients cheer. All stop together with lights.
2nd Dance is so much better than the first.
More people noises!
Unfreeze with the music.
Watch talking upstage (Ratched) but everyone too.
The audience needs to see you make decisions to bet money.
Chief – we must see your decision to raise your hand.
EXIT IN ChARACTER

Orderlies
Enter earlier and make a bee line to the chief.
You have to do something to him so that Ratched’s line –behave yourselves boys makes sense.
Good job being surprised that chief could talk and watching the patients pretend a game was going on.
Pretend to cut throat or scalp Chief.
Wrestle with Mac all the way out.
Music
Fade out music on second medication.
Birds longer
Rain longer
Side Lights
Look at lightning strikes on You Tube.  The strikes are irregular and sporadic.
Harding & Ratched
The quote unquote line was cut
Scanlon
Great job in your character but remember your lines and step on the ones before yours. -Knockers
Mac
You have to enunciate every line.
Pecking party – with humor
Some kind of good – perplexed
Loved Mac’s entrance.  Laugh more when you are surveying the place before you speak to Chief.
Be sexy and funny.  Enjoy life.  YOU CANNOT BELIEVE the actions of the patients and you don’t understand them.  This must be evident.
Make the cap be part of you.
Breaking rules – be close enough to Ratched that you could kiss her – nose to nose.  Make her uncomfortable.
The audience must see you catch on to how things are done in the ward.
Get in the nurse’s face when you say – do I look like a sane man – do a 3 stooges something.
Billy
Watch words after the shock treatment.
Don’t speak to the floor.
You are out of control too soon at the party.
Paige and Sydney
Awkward.  Paige come in sooner when Ratched says behave yourselves boys.
Ty
Rougher voice when Mac figures out you can talk.  Can you and Jared cut some lines in that scene?
Audience needs to see you hear papa before you speak.
Loved the shaking – need to see it more.
Salmon – last line needs to be stronger.
Too little – must see your pain.
How can I be – must be heartfelt.
Ratched
When the patients take too long to get to therapy, clap your hands, snap fingers, hit pen – anything to make them speed it up.
Be meaner.
Tap pen more
Have more attitude.  Smile and chuckle when you are mean.
Get in Mac’s face – Good game?
Harding
Why do I cry – don’t put hand in front of mouth.
Scanlon
Must see suspenders.
Paige and aides
Enjoy the game and enjoy the looking at nothing.
React to taking away privileges.
Sandra
We need to see more ditziness from you .  Giggle more .. Scream…Be all over the guys.

  1. today I felt like everyone was out of character, more people noises, react to when McMurphy 1st enters, be more excited when candy comes in for the 1t time, need to me together on the 1st dance and slam the chairss at the samw time on the 2nd dance

  2. I'm saying some of these lines. Is it that I'm saying them off of the script?

  3. some of them were re-worded or left out but if I wrote down the wrong lines I apologize also I agree today everyone was of character another suggestion when mcmurphy asked people to vote and some do raise your hands differently remember some of the characters are scared of nurse ratched more than others.

  4. I still need to work something out with getting down from my position with the aides because today I had to get down by myself

  5. All the characters are not always in character and there are STILL alot of awkward pauses. I am excited for our next clinic and we are getting much better.

  6. I need to work on being mean and be ready to kill Mac by the end of he play because of everything he has done.

  7. People need to learn their new lines because there are a lot of awkward moments and at times I can hear people propting each other. If I can hear you propting all the way in the sound booth then the judges will too.

  8. Jared on your line "squelling" I thought it might be funny to make a squelling sound, kinda like when your talking about the shock therapy. When throwing things on stage make sure your dont throw it to the point it falls off the stage. At area last year they had a orcastra pit and just think if it fell off we wouldn't be able to go and get it. When Hayden runs off to the doctors office Paige wait a little longer to follow so your not right behind him, because he needs time to kill himself before you get there.

  9. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable, unwanted thoughts and repetitive, ritualized behaviors you feel compelled to perform. If you have OCD, you probably recognize that your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors are irrational – but even so, you feel unable to resist them and break free.

  10. Our freezes have been an issue. we need to make sure we all know exactly when to freeze and when to unfreeze whether in be when lights come up or when the music starts. -Paige
