I’m interested in this statement:” Don’t overlook

MCMURPHY with a
maniacal grin:

Do I look like a sane man?
He laughs at himself with
enjoyment.

RATCHED
|
Perhaps, Doctor, you should advise Mr. McMurphy on the
protocol of these meetings.

Patients must remain seated.

Maybe she’s just too hot for him.

I
buh bet he’s afraid of her.

I’m not afraid.

So why does he marry a dame with such big knockers to
begin with?
|
|
HARDING

I wanted a womanly woman. One who would not compete, but
who might help me to….

RATCHED, referring to notes

MARTINI
|
How bout it, Harding”
|
|
|
McMurphy is standing apart as an
outsider watching all this with growing incredulity.
|
|
RATCHED
|
Without waiting for an answer.
|
|
HARDING, visibly
embarrassed
|
|
|
HARDING His talk
speeds up, his hands dance and flutter; a wild puppet doing a high strung
dance.
|
Harding picks
up a yellow ascot, playing with it and thinking at the same time. McMurphy looks at him levelly.
Our Miss Ratched is the kindest, sweetest, most benevolent
woman that I… that I….
He has to sit
on his hands.
That I have….
He begins to
laugh, then he is crying. I
hate her…I hate her!
He says it with more conviction the
second time and he ties the ascot around his throat. Bromden moves away from
the group USR. He moves obtrusively DSR by the window

Billy, you

Billy shakes his head.
Then
why? You’re just a young kid.
They look down at the floor.
Why do you
stay? Ain’t you got any guts?

People noises are getting better but we are still silent in some parts Hayden is always making some type of noise and interacting with everyone if we all matched his energy it would improve the show greatly
ReplyDeleteOne part where I think the show loses energy is the scene with Mac and Chief with the nursery rhyme I know this is an important relationship building scene with them but it seemed kind of slow tonight
ReplyDeleteReagan said we needed to be more stiff in the puppet dance I just youtubed how to dance like a puppet I watched the 3rd video and while we may not posses the dancing skills that this guy has he does a good job of showing where to be stiff and which joints move more
ReplyDeleteIn the party scene when ratched comes in I don't think there's is a bigs enough reaction to being caught red handed by the woman that we fear
ReplyDeleteWe need to work on the second dance a little more. It looks ok but people need to be more in sync with each other. like in the beginning slamming the chairs needs to be together and at the end when everyone drops. It doesn't look good when everyone is doing different things at the same time.
ReplyDeletewe still need people noise so we dont have dead silents moments. make up your own noise and do that for awhile till your line comes up. laugh and talk to a person that only you can see. there are many things you can do to have people noises so there are no dead zones.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Austin and i have improved on the opening scene and setting the tone for the play. Rehersal went well but we need to remember what lines got cut.
ReplyDeletePeople noises still need to be worked on. I think we need to find a way to build more tension leading up to the fight scene. There was and awkward pause waiting on Ratched to come back in after checking on Billy so we need to find a way to make that dress exchange faster.
