  1. I have been researching about medicine taken by people with BP in the 1960's. The main side effects caused by these medicines were jitters, hyperactivity, restlessness, and an inabilty to focus. OTher side effects included drowsiness and dizziness. Ironically, medicines for BP cause violent mood swings, the very thing they are trying to prevent.

  2. Everyone, including myself, needs to really work on having our own glitch. That will really help our reactions become to unique to our characters, and it will also help our characters have more depth. ~Sydney

    1. It's called a leading gesture - may not be a gesture at all, but a tic or squinting, but everyone needs to show a physical habit that their character does & is so natural that the character is unaware of it.

  3. I think that me and Nolan need to work on finding more busy work. Right now we are just walking around, but it seemed like the orderlies in Big Spring were constantly helping someone. Also we need to be mean. I think right now we are just being more of pests instead of actually being cruel. This would complete our characters and also show that nurse Ratched is more of an influence on us.

    1. I agree. You are too young to watch Twelve Years a Slave, but the overseers were beyond any degree of "meanness" that we can imagine. Episodes may be available on YouTube - also ROOTS.

  4. This show relies on our ability to have relationships with each other, but this show is different than shows we have done in the past relationship wise. My relationships with the patients should be me haveing a strong desire to help the paitents, but doing this cautiously to avoid getting hurt myself or getting in trouble with the head nurse. My desire to love and care eventually overshadows the fear of getting in trouble, which also gives me more self confidence to do things that I think are right instead of always having fear of others.

    1. I agree with your comment. We need to see more patients' relationships. Conversationally, we know that Martini gets on everyone's nerves, but we only hear that vocally. We don't see it anywhere but in the first scene and we need to see it physically each rehearsal.

  5. People think about what you do that looks weird to others and then create something that resembles that. If you have something that is weird NOW think about what that was looked about in their time.

  6. My disease was depression, and it can lead to emotional and physical problems. Typically, people with depression find it hard to go about their day-to-day activities, and may also feel that life is not worth living. This sensation happens to all of us, but not to the extent that mental health patients feel.

  7. Examples of this is like always having something in your hands or close by and that seems like you can get any where but you still keep. Another would be like constantly looking at your surroundings like you look around the room and three seconds later do it again... Then again... Then again

    1. I agree. Everyone is still in their "comfort zone" - we need more weirdness. Hope that everyone reads your comment.

  8. I have really enjoyed doing side lights and I am still working on how to set them up and deciding what colors work together. But I know I need to work on my timing and which ones to turn on on the right times. Thank you for giving me this chance.

    1. You are very good at whatever you do. Greg said that we need to have the sidelights plus two more so that when we travel we will not have to depend so much on the facility's lights.

  9. While in Big Spring I noticed that some of the patients would be very enthusiastic about playing the games, but some of them were very quiet and didn't say much. We might be able to make something like that happen if we let Savannah be a chronic. We can have Brody, Tucker, and Savannah all playing cards or dominoes. This would give us the opportunity to show some more depth into some of the characters and create a character for the other chronic patients. This is just a thought.

  10. I may be one of the worst offenders, but even when a scene doesn't pertain to us, we need to stay focused and in character so that we know how to react when it counts. Also, we really need to learn our lines.

  11. Focus has not been great. Glad you recognized that:)

  12. We need to step on lines faster w the card scenes and show more reaction when something or someone disturbs us. We must be in character all day everyday

  13. I feel like we should all remember that this play takes place in the 60s. We need to research what things were acceptable and what weren't back then

  14. As a whole we need to memorize the whole play to make the practices easier and to work on more things throught a practice. As being a scanlon I need to be more in charter all the time, remember my ticks and my little key actions. Be loud and have more hand motions but be sure to keep close to my bomb and be protective of it at all times. As a whole we are all doing well and keep up the hard work.

  15. from my point of view all characters need to step on lines, know their lines, speak loude, and make your words sharp and clear as well. We need more reaction through out the play like be more your own character. The movements to the dance needs to be on point and at the right time together.

  16. Don't speak upstage, and if you need to cheat when speaking. There is a lot of stage noise through out the play, and if you have a line during the chaos make sure you can be heard over it. Most of the time we loss you and can't hear or understand what your saying.

  17. I realize that more people noises are a good thing, but I feel like less would kind of give the set a more eerie feel to it and might help inhance the atmosphere. (just an idea)

  19. Everyone needs to memorize our lines so that our practices will go smoother and be more productive, myself included. Also, we need to come prepared to work every time and always stay in character. Each person needs to find what is their own personal tick or movement that they do to separate each person as an individual.

  20. Sidney, we need to see you lose contol. Walk and act with authority at the first of the play and as it goes on you lose some of it. Like that movie i was telling you about, she has no heart almost is what it seems like, she has no emotion and does not smile but as the movie goes on she slowly grows a heart and ends up losing control of the kids and everyone. Watch it and youll see what im talking about. But everyone needs to learn lines, itll make practice easier, we will be able to focus on the big things and fix things that are really important.
