March 10

Everyone
Entrances must be made quicker.
Do not go back to the coat rack to find your color.  Have it on the stage hidden someplace.
Rehearsal was great.  The last part of the show is stronger.  The party scene is still the weakest. Do not hug the nurses’ station. Move the action DS.
The men are still not intrigued by the women.   You are not having a good time.
Ratched, keep the window closed so that the men can be louder.
Men,I do not see the fear you have for Ratched.
Thursday night – rehearsal begins at 6:30.   I think parents are providing meals.  We will stay later – about ten.
Spring break – Thursday, March 20 – begin at 7 – bring sleeping bags, pillows, etc. We will watch the movie, run through the show about 3 times.
Friday morning – 9AM rehearsal until noon. If you have white costumes, I need them Friday to wash.
Sunday – be at school by 1.   We made $345 last Sunday and D’Ann McGuire donated $171.   Let’s make $ this Sunday.
The last part of the show was much better.  Progress was made tonight.
Tomorrow in class – Issac is going to see if we can watch the show.  Thanks to Ms. K and Ms. G for all their help.
If you have read this far, come to my room for ONE Mardi Gras necklace. They are in my chair.

  1. The show is still dragging alot and there needs to be more energy!

  2. Ever sense our second clinic, our show has drug. Although we might have had too many high points, now it almost seems as if we have none. We have overcorrected and have taken all the excitement out of our play. We must focus on keeping the energy up.

    1. You are completely right. It has been dragging.

  3. The end of our show seems almost anticlimatic to me. After all of the excitement of the Orby and Sydney's fight, the excitement play makes a sudden and devastating jump of a cliff. We need to work on continuing the excitement after the fight and even building upon it. The end of our show needs to leave a desire for more within our audiences and especially in our judges.

  4. The guys are out acting the girls. This does not mean your not acting good, but the girls need to step it up. There are 11 boys and 4 girls, so naturaly the boys are going to be stronger. Because there are so few girls in this play if you dont over act its not going to be the great performance we want.

  5. The party scene really needs some work as well. We must show the difference between the monotonous everyday lives of the patients and the excitement of the party scene. The guys must really really really enjoy themselves. And at the moment i am not feeeling the excitement.

  6. Make sure to step on lines. We can't stress this enough. If we step on lines it will not only help our time, but the overall flow of the show. We would have time to slow down some lines and make our play better.

  7. It really bothers me when a cast put pieces of the set out that they do not use. With us the only thing that never has a purpose is the trash can outside of the window. I realize that it is covering the light but we dont really use it. I understand that this is an OCD ridiculous desire, but it would make me feel better if one of the "party girls" throws something away. Perhaps Sandra could be throwing an empty bottle away, so she misses the oppurtunity to come in.

  8. I really liked how Sydney slowed down some of her lines last night. I believe it really adds to her character and emphasizes the emotion behind the scene so well. I really want to keep these moments, but that means we are really going to have to STEP ON LINES!

  9. We have a preformance on Sunday the 23rd! This is our last show before contest with an audience, and so when we practice over spring break we need to really work hard. I know that some people said our peformance this weekend was good, but in reality it wasn't. I know y'all can do better, and ive seen it. Let's show them that were just streching before the big game.

  10. I really wish that we werent pressed for time, but unfortunately we are. Therefore we must remember to step on lines. We have to get our show under forty minutes. However we cannot afford to rush our lines. We must speen up the show but we cant lose the emotion behind it.

  11. With Seminole and Andrew still being in our district we cannot afford to slack off- even for a moment. We musty work every second we can to improve our show. I know that we dont always get to be at practice together, but when we are all together we have to work as hard as we can. District is just around the corner and we need to make strides before then.

  12. One thing we need to work on is setting up our set under seven minutes. we can't afford to get dissqualifed over something like this. If your not doing anything find something to do. Help fix wing, put sand bags on things, make sure everything is clamted that needs to be and ect. There is no time to be wasted!

  13. On contest day we are in a good time slot. Were right after Cooper and before Levelland. We need to use this to our advantage. Something not to do before contest is cut hair, no nails, and be cafeul with props we can't afford to have anything break.

  14. The climax is amazing now! I'm so happy things are finally coming together.

  15. We have no amazing moments in the play. Its the same from start to finish. its almost like we are just flat lining the entire time.

  16. Sydney, during the first group meeting you have to react to the bell. the bell is the signal for the meeting. even if you know what time the meeting is suppose to start you have to at least look at a clock instead of just grabbing the phone and saying the line.

  17. During the party scene be careful not to make it looked to staged. I feel like we either don't have enough energy in this scene or it's to staged so I think we need to find a happy medium!

  18. It's not a real party until someone throws up. Also, we have the "cocktail shaker" and the TP, why not have someone grab some TP and that and run off stage for comic relief? Lastly, I think Spivey should have his old Russian accent, to make it a little more sketchy that he is an actual doctor.

  19. I think that the party scene is coming together, but it is still the weakest part of the show. I think if we perfect this scene, we will be very successful.

  20. During the party scene we need to show we are having a party and not just acting for the audience. We need to be are characters and not act like them. During the party scene throw up, fall over, be loud, maybe be scared. Whatever your character does make sure to show that and think outside the box with your actions.

  21. Our show needs to really improve on the little things. We do not have very much time left before we compete, so everyone needs to show up and bring their best to each practice. The party scene is our weakest scene. I think that we all need to put our heart into making it a fun, loose time to contrast the orderly atmosphere that is created during the rest of the play.

  22. some of our sceance were there are no lines needs to be faster, some of us needs to be louder with our line, and we all need to step on lines and we'll be good with time
